A little bit about me:

I'm Jacob, a marketer who believes hospitality is at its best when every space tells a story.

I manage marketing for two venues in downtown Baton Rouge: the Hilton Capitol Center and The Tunnel Speakeasy. They couldn't be more different, and that's what makes the work fun. One day I'm directing a photo shoot for the hotel, the next I'm deep in planning a themed speakeasy night down to the playlist and the cocktail names. I get to live in both worlds.

Everything I do comes back to one idea: “Your Stay, Your Story.” Whether someone is unwinding in the hotel lounge, discovering The Tunnel for the first time, or walking into one of our events, I want them to feel like the space was made for them.

My experience

  • Marketing Manager | January 2024 - PRESENT

    As Marketing Manager, I oversee digital strategy, content creation, and brand messaging for a historic full-service hotel. I manage social media, email campaigns, and on-property storytelling that support revenue goals and highlight our guest experience. I collaborate with sales, events, F&B, and operations to promote new offerings, plan in-house activations, and ensure all marketing reflects our brand voice. My focus is blending creativity with data to strengthen engagement, drive demand, and keep our hotel top of mind in the Baton Rouge market.

  • Social Media Coordinator and Graphic Design Assistant | January 2020 - December 2021
    As the Social Media Coordinator and Graphic Design Assistant, I managed our presence on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, helping boost both engagement and reach among students and alumni. I worked closely with the marketing team to create and implement social media strategies tailored to highlight campus events, career tips, and employer features. I also created, edited, and scheduled original content to ensure consistent and meaningful engagement across platforms. In addition to social media, I designed print and digital materials for office-led events, ensuring cohesive branding and strong visual appeal.

  • Communication and Events Intern | January 2021 - May 2021

    As a Communication and Events Intern, I helped lead social media campaigns across platforms, resulting in a 25% increase in engagement from our audience. I played a key role in coordinating community events like the Hammond Farmers Market, where I worked to boost local participation and foster stronger community ties. Alongside our team, I assisted in event planning and logistics, ensuring smooth execution and positive experiences for vendors and attendees. This role gave me hands-on experience in community outreach, event coordination, and the power of strategic communication.

Recommendations

Getting to watch young professionals grow and excel is one of my favorite things to do. Working in the Office of Career Services, provides an endless supply of emerging professionals to guide, mentor, encourage, inspire, and develop. The students who work in our office are the ones we get to impact the most and Jacob Deliberto was one of our very best!

Jacob was a diligent, hardworking professional, who appreciated growth opportunities, and any chance he could get to elevate his knowledge and skills. While Jacob had a tremendous work-ethic, his consistently positive attitude and drive to be the best were two of his most appreciated professional habits. Jacob always brought joy and fun to our office, using his love for humor to bring team members together beyond the work they did.

Jacob's creativity and passion for marketing & design, made him an ideal fit for our office. He always took everything to the next level, and that's one of the things I miss most about him.

Since graduating, Jacob has taken his skills to the next level, reaping the rewards of hard work, self-discipline, a dynamic personality, and a genuine care for his coworkers and clients alike.

Beyond his work, Jacob has taken his own time to speak with existing students who are trying to find their career path, helping others by sharing his tips for success with future professionals!!
